On June 18th, 2019, the surfers at Trestles were treated to a second day of a new swell, and Uppers was pumping with some solid waves. Trestles, located in Southern California, is known for its magnetic pull on talented surfers from all around the world. And on this day, they were out in force, ripping up the waves.
The surf that day was consistently chest to head high, or around 3-5 foot faces. With plenty of sections to do some hard snaps into the lip, it was the perfect day for some high-performance surfing. The waves were peeling perfectly, and the sets were coming in regularly, offering surfers plenty of opportunities to catch some incredible waves.
Despite being mid-June, the water temperature was still chilly, hovering around the mid-60s. This meant that most of the surfers opted to wear their 3:2 wetsuits. The wetsuits not only kept them warm but also provided some extra buoyancy, making it easier to paddle and catch waves.
