If you’re a surfer in Encinitas, California, you know that catching a good wave is like finding treasure. And on September 5th, 2020, local surfer Chris Blabac struck gold.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Chris for a long boarding session on this beautiful day. Despite the early morning gloomy conditions, the waves were clean and chest high, with 3 foot faces to ride. The water temperature was warm enough for boardshorts, making it the perfect day for a surf session.
Chris took out his longboard and started catching some of the waves. It was incredible to watch him maneuver his board and ride the waves with such grace and ease. I was swimming in the ocean, filming him with a GoPro waterproof camera, capturing every moment of his ride.

Not only was it an incredible surfing experience, but it was also a great opportunity to connect with a fellow local surfer. Chris shared stories of his past surfing experiences and offered some tips and tricks to improve my own surfing skills.
