“Ed Feuer from Surfers United who partnered with Torrey Pines Church asked if I could invite my friend Tom Curren to play music and be the special guest at this movie outreach. The plan was to invite everyone we could from the local Surf community to hear Tom play music and to meet the world champion and also to see a few segments from a movie. We made a long time ago titled “Changes 1” and the plan was to share the vision for producing “Changes 2″, which is a faith base Surf Movie we are currently working on and recently we interviewed Filipe Toledo and Erin Brooks for the movie.”
“I wanted the youth to meet Tom because he is a great example of someone who reached all of his goals as a world champion. Surfer, and also realized that success without a relationship with God is empty, and a life without a relationship with God is empty, so I hope the youth Were encouraged and reminded that God loves them very much and has a plan for their life and wants to see them succeed. However, it takes a few difficult decisions to not everybody wants to make. Doing things God‘s way instead of however, everyone else does them is not always easy that’s for sure. I also hope that anyone that was hurting going through a rough time would be encouraged and reminded that people care and God cares.” says Bryan.

“I don’t see a lot of free events happening these days – and so Torrey Pines Church was gracious to pay for Tom to come down to share his music and his story. We are hoping to do more in the future. We also wanted to announce the production of “Changes 2″ – and we have already interviewed Felipe Toledo and Erin Brooks. The purpose of the event was to share the good news about God and let people know how much he loves us.”
“It was quite a sacrifice for him to drive all that way with his family, and then drive back up the coast right after it was over to Central Cal where he is living now. It’s pretty cool to have someone like Tom testify about knowing Jesus and experiencing the love that God has demonstrated through him.”
“There is so much negativity these days targeting Christians. I wanted to give a demo of how cool, giving and amazing Christians can be. We are working on “Changes 2”. Jesus said, “freely you have received, freely give.” It was so cool to have a FREE event where we gave away FREE skateboards and other items. Tom was willing to sign boards and posters and stick around because he is a giving and loving human being because he has been touched by God.”
