The foundation, which focuses on improving access to clean water and educational opportunities for young people, is the brainchild of none other than professional surfer and legend, Rob Machado.
In a recent interview, Machado shared that the inspiration for the foundation came from his own travels to surf destinations around the world. He noticed that in many of these places, access to clean water was a significant challenge for local communities, particularly for young people. “It just didn’t make sense to me that we have all these resources and technologies available, yet so many people are still struggling just to access something as basic as clean water,” he said.

Since then, the organization has worked on a number of projects to provide access to clean water and educational opportunities to young people around the world. Some of their most notable initiatives include installing water filtration systems in schools and community centers in Fiji, as well as supporting the construction of new classrooms and educational facilities in areas with limited access to education.
At Camp Shred 2023, the foundation’s booth was a hub of activity, with festival-goers stopping by to learn more about the organization and its initiatives. Along with providing information about the foundation, the booth also offered free water refills to attendees, in an effort to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles at the event.
