The “Everyday Ryder” is a creation by our Gordon & Smith team rider and shaper, Isaac Wood.
Isaac has been a G&S team rider for 25+ years, as well as a member of the Windansea Surf Club for 15+.
Wood wanted to design something easy to ride that can simply turn, noseride, and trim in any conditions.
He came up with the “Everyday Ryder”. This longboard features a subtle natural rocker, slight flip in the nose, and edge in the tail. The entry from the nose is a flat, upturned rail with a slight concave that is 6” back from our standard concaves, allowing easier wave entry and paddle. Pushing back the concave also allows for more stability when dropping in, as well as extra noseriding time.
After the concave, the rocker has a 1’ flat spot that blends into a slight belly, to V in front of the fin box, back to a slight belly, then flat out the tail with edge. The down rail-like lowered rails towards the end of the board allows the tail to sit high in the water making for a very responsive and fluid feeling from rail to rail.
The “Everyday Ryder” has a comfortable feel from the first session out, and has become a favorite board amongst our G&S team. Unanimously, this has become the board of choice for any conditions on any day, giving it the appropriate name, the “Everyday Ryder”.
The “Everyday Ryder” can be ordered from 9’0 up to 9’8” in board length.
